As our devoted voters noticed, Fence Cat and Weekend were neck and neck until the very end. They both brought in more votes than I ever expected! I even heard through the grapevine of a grandmother who hardly slept–she kept her laptop next to her bed and didn’t miss an hourly vote!

I am personally heartbroken that every entry cannot win. Every entry is so impressive in its individuality–just like the author and pets they capture.

As a fledgling business, I am not able to give everyone a custom portrait though I might want to. I am able to offer all participants–Weekend, Ruby, Kenzie, The Angelfish, Quinn, Van, Libby, Athena, Tazz, Gunner & Scout, Rowan, and Cloe–discounts, so that hopefully they too can be celebrated by a Van Gogh My Pet custom portrait.

I want to thank you all for sharing this contest this week. It has been so much fun that I’m already planning the next one. I’ve decided that it will end exactly and irrevocably at 6pm PST, and that I will find a way for voters and participants to flag comments as inappropriate so that I can remove them.
